Why is smiling important?
The smile is a set of things, it can be heard, seen and felt! It is both a formidable weapon when wielded well but also protection and comfort in the face of everyday unexpected events. First of all, smiling is an expression of Joy: Indeed, the brain recognizes this signal and releases endorphins. The feeling of well-being is immediate. Smiling is also the “tool” to create social connections: A precious help that is almost indispensable in interpersonal relationships. But, the smile is also used in conflict resolution: During a tense situation, the smile helps to stabilize, even catalyze one's emotions, to lower the level of present stress and sometimes, it even allows you to reverse the trend for a stylish exit without collateral damage! It’s not for nothing that some people call a smile the antidote to society! And of course... Smiling is viral! Everyone knows that a smile is contagious! In 2008, in the United Kingdom, researchers were able to measure that the joy of an individual spreads, like wildfire, to the friends of the friends of their friends, i.e. 3th degree of separation between individuals! As a reminder, with 7 degrees, the whole world is affected! In short, to have a positive impact on the world, all you need is a banana! In this same study, it is said: “Knowing a smiling and happy person less than 1 mile (~1.6km) from home increases the probability of being one in turn by 25%. If right next to you, our neighbor is happy, then the chances increase to 36%. And, having a happy friend tends to increase the chances again, this time up to 42%! ". Of course, smiling is not always synonymous with happiness, but it seems that smiling is still strongly correlated with joy and, given the impact that a smile can generate, it is the responsibility of everyone to have a smile? ! And of course almost indispensable in seduction: In France, the smile is still what women appreciate most in a man (37%), before the look (13%) (Baileys-Ifop survey) So make an effort, smile! On the other hand, avoid forced smiles...! (This is not always successful!) Now that you are convinced, it is a matter of making smiling a reflex in your daily life in order to benefit from all its advantages and to pass them on to your neighbor! ?

But the perfect smile also depends on the types of smiles…
What is your type of smile?
A. Commissural Smile
THE most common smile, representing approximately 67% of the population. In this smile, usually associated with the Cupid's bow, the corners of the mouth are first raised outwards and followed a contraction of the levator muscles of the upper lip to reveal the upper teeth. The following celebrities are recognizable by their commissural smile: Jerry Seinfeld, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Aniston, Frank Sinatra, Jamie Lee Curtis and Audrey Hepburn.

B. Custed Smile
The so-called “cusped” smile is thesecond most common type of smile, present in 31% of the population. This smile is said to have a diamond shape: More precisely, we identify this smile bythe elevation of the upper lip. The muscles of the upper lip contract, raise the lip and reveal the teeth, canines and gums. The corners of the mouth also turn outwards. Often, the smile “pulls” downwards unlike the commissural smile where the corners of the mouth go up. Celebrities with cusp smiles include Elvis Presley, Tom Cruise, Drew Barrymore, Sharon Stone, Linda Evangelista and Tiger Woods.

C. Complex Smile
The complex smile is the rarest, it is present in 2% of the population. The shape of the lips is usually illustrated by two parallel lines/lips. The muscles responsible for raising the upper lip and the corners of the mouth as well as the depressor muscles of the lower lip contract simultaneously, allowing all the teeth (upper and lower) to appear at once. What especially characterizes this smile is the significant retraction of the lower lip backwards and downwards. Some celebrities with complex smiles include Julia Roberts, Marilyn Monroe, Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey.
